Materials
Stoneware clay fired to 1,260°C with a reactive ash glaze. High firing is what makes stoneware dishwasher-safe; a low-fired earthenware mug in the same shape would craze within a year.
Care
Dishwasher and microwave safe. The glaze pooling inside the base is intentional and will not wear. If it picks up coffee staining in the crazing, a soak in bicarbonate lifts it.
